  • Residency is awarded to individual artists only – partners and spouses are not included.

  • Artists must be on-site for the duration of the program.

Note: Due to the summer months being relatively quiet in that faculty and students are generally not on campus, networking that extends beyond the campus to the larger art community of the Boston is not offered by Emmanuel College.  We encourage artists to do their own community building by organizing weekly dinners or other social events together and reaching out to any Boston-based arts organizations that are of interest to them.

An Art Department studio manager will be available throughout the residency to assist artists with the logistics of the residency.  In return, artists contribute to the Emmanuel community through occasional interactions with Emmanuel faculty, staff, and students, and through the single work that each artist donates to Emmanuel College at the completion of their residency. Occasional opportunities for community building with the Emmanuel community may be organized by the Art Department.
